Doorbell Detectives + various

Client: Purple Productions + various

We produced a number of elements for the BBC’s award winning daytime factual crime series “Doorbell Detectives” including animated titles, scene transitions, social media mock-ups and lower thirds.

Described as “Neighbourhood Watch with a digital upgrade!” Matt Allwright shares gobsmacking stories of crafty crooks and dodgy deliveries caught on camera, and top tips to help make a safer street.

Our graphics were an abstract take on the smart doorbell, a digital eye keeping watch.

Doorbell Detectives is just one show among many that we’ve produced animated graphics for.

Title design, lower thirds, animated explainers, map sequences, if it needs a graphic we’ve probably done it.

Here are a few:

World’s Wildest Flights

Client: Title Role Productions

Alongside the main titles, route maps and contributor detail graphics, each story required several stylised, scene setting external shots of the aircraft involved and sequences explaining the detailed issues with the flight.

A stylized depiction of an Airbus 320 with smoke trailing from right-hand engine
A stylized depiction of a Cessna 175 flying over snowy mountains

World’s Wildest Weather

Client: Title Role Productions

Establishing each story with an animated map including detailed location information and a visual representation of the weather phenomenon involved.

Stylised sequences explaining the science of the particular weather and the consequential effects.

Motorway Cops: Catching Britain’s Speeders / Motorway Cops USA

Client: Purple Productions

Meal Deals: Beyond the Bargain

Client: Purple Productions

For this series in which Joe Swash investigates the meal deal phenomenon in the UK, we produced an array of graphics using an illustrated fruit machine as a device to explore over 20 million possible meal combinations. There were also fun, incidental graphics such as Joe having his mind “blown” by the amount of possibilities.
